Based on our recent news article here: Badminton England reveals new transformative vision for its performance programme | Badminton England we are recruiting coaches and support staff to help us develop a system and environment that enables players to maximise their potential and perform at the highest level across our senior, junior and para programmes. in doing so, you will be playing a key role in enabling us to deliver our vision at Badminton England to make our sport the most inclusive and accessible sport in the country.

Hours:
35.58 hours
Hours to include irregular or unsociable hours including attendance at camps, tournaments and competitions in England and worldwide. In return, agile, flexible working and TOIL is granted as per our BE policies and procedures
Role summary:
Driving the success of the doubles coaching programme (senior) at Badminton England to ultimately achieve the aims and objectives of the doubles performance programme. In doing so, you will work In collaboration with the Head Coach (senior), and the other doubles coaches (senior), you will have day to day responsibility of the long-term training and competition plan for the doubles programme (senior), including technical planning and delivery of the programme, working with MDT staff, testing and management of athlete progress including Individual Athlete Plans, input into innovation and data projects, and preparation and selection information for selection panels,
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for doubles player performance – to include coaching, player development, nominations for selections, attendance at tournaments/ competitions and management of players
- Management of day-to-day operations of the doubles training programme
- Working in partnership with the MDT team to deliver the needs of the doubles programme
- Lead the player data strategy to ensure technology is optimizing the collection of player data and influencing performance tactics within the doubles programme
- Management of all player IAPs to understand and respond to players development needs in order to achieve their full potential
- Developing your coaching abilities to achieve your full potential and keeping abreast of current trends within international badminton
- Submission of monthly reports to the Head Coach to demonstrate progress and identify challenges
- Responsibility to ensure duty of care to all athletes, coaches and staff involved in the programme
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Performance Director
Who we are looking for?
- Demonstrated ability of delivering doubles badminton performance at a national level
- Track record of using technology to collect and interpret player data to develop coaching programmes
- Knowledge and understanding of trends within International Badminton to influence doubles coaching programmes to achieve results
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Articulate with IT to develop effective reports to demonstrate and track progress
- Strong planning and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise, delegate and empower
- Proven experience in athlete duty of care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office and in particular, spreadsheets word processing, email
- Ambitious and driven to continually develop new skills and techniques in themselves and others
- Meticulous attention to detail
