Join Us as a Trustee – Shape the Future of the Badminton Museum
The Badminton Museum is on an exciting journey to gain Accredited Museum status, enhance our interactive displays, and amplify our presence through digital engagement. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of the Museum.
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in governance, strategic direction, and ensuring financial sustainability, while championing the heritage of badminton and its impact on communities worldwide. In badminton, we know that diverse perspectives and backgrounds make the game stronger, just like our playing community. That’s why we actively encourage applications from people of all experiences and backgrounds.
Who We’re Looking For
We are keen to hear from individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Badminton Knowledge – Experience as a player, coach, or administrator, with a deep understanding of the sport.
- Museum Management – Knowledge of operating and managing museums, not necessarily in sport.
- Fundraising & Partnerships – Experience in fundraising, particularly with corporate partners and individual donors.
- Financial Management – Skills in overseeing budgets, monitoring financial health, and ensuring responsible stewardship.
- Research & Heritage Preservation – Ability to support research inquiries and contribute to maintaining the integrity of badminton’s historical record.
Your Role as a Trustee
- Contribute to the strategic leadership and governance of the Museum.
- Guide financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Help drive engagement, education, and digital innovation.
- Represent the Museum at events, fostering connections and advocacy.
Commitment & Details
- Term: Initial three-year appointment, renewable up to two further terms.
- Meetings: Four in-person Board meetings annually at the National Badminton Centre, plus additional collaboration via technology as needed.
- Compensation: Voluntary position with out-of-pocket expenses reimbursed.
