Coaching Advisory Group Member – Volunteer Role
Are you passionate about coaching and developing people through sport?
We're looking for forward-thinking individuals to join our new Coaching Advisory Group and help shape the future of badminton coaching in England. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation of Badminton England's Coaching Plan (2026-2033), supporting the development of a high-quality coaching network that helps make badminton the most inclusive and accessible sport in England.
What You'll Do
As a member of the Coaching Advisory Group, you will:
Provide insight, advice and constructive challenge to support coaching development across England.
Represent the voices, needs and experiences of coaches within the badminton community.
Contribute to the implementation and ongoing development of the Coaching Plan.
Support strategic planning and review progress against key priorities and measures.
Help promote diversity, inclusion and accessibility throughout the coaching workforce.
Provide recommendations to the Develop and Perform Committees on coaching-related priorities and initiatives.
About You
We are keen to hear from people with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Coaching, coach development or coaching systems
Coach education and learning
Athlete development
Data analysis, monitoring and evaluation
Engaging underrepresented communities in sport
Strategic planning and decision making
Equality, diversity and inclusion in sport
We would particularly welcome applicants with knowledge or experience in:
Schools badminton
Grassroots and community sport
County and domestic competition
Talent and performance pathways
High-performance sport
Para badminton
Coach development

Time Commitment
This is a voluntary role, with reasonable expenses reimbursed in line with Badminton England policy.
Three-year term, with eligibility for reappointment.
At least three meetings per year, with occasional additional meetings as required.
Opportunities to contribute to projects and coaching initiatives between meetings.
The first meeting will take place in person at the National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, on 2 December.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role. However, reasonable expenses incurred whilst carrying out the role will be reimbursed in line with Badminton England policy
