Role summary/ Job purpose

Fitness Instructors will be responsible for providing a great environment for all those that visit the center from Olympic athletes to Badminton Head office staff to your lodge guests who use our Fitness spaces. It requires someone who is adaptable, customer focused and is enthusiastic about providing a great fitness experience.

Main responsibilities

Job Description

Customer Service:

• Be an ambassador for the Badminton Health & Fitness Club
• Be a great communicator and exceptional team player
• Maintain visibility in our gym spaces, engaging with customers and staff in a professional positive way that fosters achievement of individual fitness goals
• Provide excellent customer service to all our customer types including hotel guests, gym/badminton members, ad hoc facility users and all staff
• Motivate members to reach their fitness goals and maintain a healthier lifestyle by utilising Myzone and Egym to drive member engagement
• Provide Gym Consultations and Inductions to our members and create plans for our members to follow (Including Junior gym inductions)
• Be prepared to run small group PT as well as individual PT session as agreed with the Racket and Fitness manager and club membership offering

Operational Management:

• Carry out daily Fitness/Operations/cleaning tasks within the gym spaces utilising our Opspal software
• Key Holder – ensure the centre is opened and closed on a shift basis
• Complete weekly equipment checks and report any faults to our Fitness and Rackets Manager

NBC Knowledge:

• Have an understanding of our reception facilities and booking systems to ensure all transactions are processed accurately
• Assist with the membership sales process, including facility tours, ascertain health and fitness goals, understand how we as a club can meet those ambitions
  
  

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all gym areas of the building.
• Ensure emergency response readiness including assisting with building evacuations.
• First Aid Qualified – complete accident/incident reports follow any First Aid incidents

Communication:

• Contribute to staff handovers in relation to all aspects of our fitness provision.
• Handle customer complaints, in a professional manner resolve operational challenges, and sales inquiries efficiently.
• Collaborate with the Fitness & Rackets Manager and other team members to organise events and activities to promote community engagement.
• Foster a motivating work environment though living out BE Values.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Level 2 / 3 Fitness Instructor qualification
• Level 3 Personal Training qualification (Desirable)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for the Health and Fitness Industry
• Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

• First Aid certification (training provided if needed).
• Flexibility to work shifts - evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Other Duties

• To comply with the requirements of Badminton England’s procedures and policies
• To undertake such other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post (or as may be allocated).
